A new opnMe PostDoc grant opportunity: Advance 3D image analysis in histopathology with your own scientific project idea

22 April 2024

News TRPA1 Antagonist

We are excited to announce a new PostDoc grant opportunity on opnMe in the field of image analysis for histopathology. We offer a unique chance for high class talents to execute their postdoctoral project proposal in a state-of-the-art scientific environment at Boehringer Ingelheim for up to three years.

The microscopy of thin slices of tissues and organs is a common technique to make morphological and molecular alterations, induced by diseases and medications, visible. In recent years, 3D imaging techniques had been further optimized, allowing a more detailed visualization of the entire 3D structure of tissues and organs. We envision, that the integration of artificial intelligence and spatial computing may allow even deeper insights into the complex 3D structures and spatial relationships between different cells, tissue structures and drug targets. To expand our own capabilities in this direction, we invite creative talents in the field of AI-based image analysis and spatial computing to propose their postdoctoral project idea to the following question:

How would you propose to employ spatial computing and artificial intelligence in analyzing 3D images of tissues and organs to characterize morphological and molecular alterations induced by diseases and medications?

For the complete application package, please upload your project plan, complemented with your CV, publication list, and letters of recommendation on opnMe. An expert panel of Boehringer Ingelheim scientists will review all incoming applications. Should your application be selected, you have the unique chance to pursue your own submitted research project as a fully resourced Postdoc at Boehringer Ingelheim in Biberach (Riss), Germany with access to a fully equipped laboratory in a state-of-the-art development facility, mentoring from experts, opportunity to attend international conferences and to publish in high-ranking journals.

Apply soon as your applications can only be accepted if they arrive by June 12, 2024 11:59 pm PST.
